Few suspected that the Bel Air Branch of the Kunkel Wagon Company, which started with four employees, sold gasoline from four pumps, and carried on a tire business that consisted mainly of solid rubber truck tires, would grow to become one of the largest automotive parts distributors in Maryland. We are currently in our fifth generation of family leadership.

Trained Parts Professionals
In a field where product knowledge is critical, Kunkel's provides factory trained sales professionals, factory field support, and trained store personnel. Our sales personnel have attended in-depth factory training schools and are up-to-date on major changes and trends in the market. They are "Specialists" in the automotive field and many are ASE Certified Parts Specialists.

Inventory Management
One of the unique services that Kunkels offers is the ability to track and print out a purchase report for any customer. Our salesmen will review this report with you on a monthly basis. These computer reports are invaluable in assuring that your purchases are the most cost efficient.

Vast Inventory
Our Bel Air Distribution Center/Main Store includes over 40,000 square feet of space, combined with the inventory at the branch stores adds up to one of the largest automotive parts inventories in the state of Maryland, with over $7 million in automotive parts, equipment, and supplies.

Purchasing Power
Because of our size, we buy all major lines direct from the manufacturers. We then pass these savings on to the customer. We frequently distribute sales flyers featuring new products or special purchases.

Training
Technical training and new product seminars are held through out the year. We sponsor numerous manufacturer's technical and management seminars. We are dedicated to providing product, management, and technical training to our customers.

Computer Technology
This easy-to-use program allows our customer to connect via the Internet to our Main Frame computer which gives the customer access to electronic cataloging, pricing, parts availability and ordering. We work with several national programs to offer a shop management program to partner with Kunkel's Internet Technology Systems.
